Desktop and acoustic screens give people in open plan offices a defined space of their own and soak up some of the surrounding noise. The range includes desk mounted and floor standing screens, so it suits busy Irish offices that want more privacy at each workstation without any building work.
Height decides almost everything about how a screen performs. A low screen of around 400mm keeps paperwork on the right side of the desk and marks out personal space, but does little for noise or eye contact. A tall screen of around 1200mm properly separates people and cuts more sound, at the expense of daylight and a more closed-in feel.
Most offices settle somewhere between the two. Walk the floor and choose a height for each area, rather than one height for the whole building.
A fabric screen softens conversation close by. It will not stop a video call being heard on the far side of the room, so treat it as one part of the answer. For proper separation, look at privacy booths and pods.
Absorption also works better when it is spread out. Desk screens combined with acoustic wall tiles and ceiling baffles will do more than one large panel, and our acoustic solutions cover the whole room.
Screen brackets are made for particular desk frames, and a screen bought on its own often needs drilling before it fits. Ranges such as Impulse Plus and our desk and bench screens are built around specific desk systems, so start with whichever matches your frames.
