Please read these terms carefully before ordering. They tell you who we are, how we will supply goods to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem, and other important information. They apply to every order placed with us, whether on this website, by phone or by email.
This website is operated by Executive Interiors Ltd, trading as OfficeDesks.ie. OfficeDesks.ie is the online shop of Executive Interiors Ltd, an office furniture dealer based in Dublin and established in 2004, and the sister site of OfficeChairs.ie.
Our Dublin showroom is open strictly by appointment. We are a small team and the office is not always staffed, so please call or email to arrange a time before you visit.
"We", "us" and "our" mean Executive Interiors Ltd trading as OfficeDesks.ie. "You" means the person or business placing an order.
If you tell us at checkout that you are buying on behalf of a business, or you ask us to invoice a business, or you give us a VAT number, we will treat you as a business customer.
Where Part B and Part C differ, the one that applies to you takes priority over Part A. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Placing an order on this website is an offer to buy, not a completed contract.
Orders placed by phone or email are treated in the same way: your order is an offer, and a contract exists once we have confirmed it in writing.
You confirm that the information you give us when you order is true, accurate, current and complete, so that we can deliver to the right place and contact you if we need to.
We take care over our product descriptions, images, dimensions and prices, but images are for illustration. The colour of a product on your screen depends on your screen, and photographs may not truly reflect a colour or finish. Where an image shows a product in an office or home setting it may include other items that are not part of what is being sold. If in doubt, ask us before you order.
Wood grains, fabric weaves and finishes vary naturally between batches. Slight variation is not a fault.
Dimensions and specifications come from the manufacturers and are a guide. If a measurement is critical to your space, or you need to know whether a product will fit through a door or up a staircase, confirm it with us before you order.
Our Delivery page explains whether products arrive assembled and what assembly or installation is available.
Some products are made by the manufacturer after you order. Where that is the case, we will tell you the expected lead time before you order, and where a product is made to your specification we will also tell you that the 14-day cancellation right in Part B does not apply to it.
We may make minor changes to a product to reflect changes in law, safety requirements or a manufacturer's specification, where these do not materially affect your use of it. We may withdraw a product from sale at any time.
All prices are in euro (€).
Prices on this website include VAT at the standard Irish rate, currently 23%. VAT is itemised at the checkout and on your order confirmation. If the rate of VAT changes between the date of your order and the date the goods are supplied, we will adjust the VAT you pay unless you have already paid in full.
Delivery is charged per order and is not included in the price you pay at the checkout. After you order, we will contact you to confirm the delivery charge, including VAT, and nothing is dispatched until you have agreed it. If you do not agree it, we will cancel your order and refund you in full. Our Delivery page explains how delivery works.
Payment is taken in full when you place your order, at the point you complete the checkout, by card through our payment provider, Stripe, using the payment methods shown there. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are not seen or stored by us.
It is always possible that, despite our best efforts, a product is mispriced. If the correct price at the date of your order is higher than the price stated, we will contact you before the goods are dispatched and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. We will not supply at the wrong price without telling you.
We deliver to addresses in the Republic of Ireland. Your order is supplied by our manufacturer or distributor in the United Kingdom and delivered to you.
Where we deliver, delivery charges, timescales, what delivery includes and what to do if something arrives damaged are set out on our Delivery page, which forms part of these terms.
If nobody is available to take an agreed delivery, or the delivery cannot get access, it may have to be rebooked and there may be a charge for the second attempt. Where we can, we will tell you the charge before it is incurred.
Where assembly or installation is offered for a product, its price will be confirmed to you before you pay.
Please check your delivery when it arrives. If anything is damaged or missing, contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@officedesks.ie with your order number, a description of the problem and detailed photos. We will put it right by arranging a repair, replacement parts or a replacement, or by refunding you.
If you are a consumer, telling us later does not take away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which are set out in Part B and on our Returns and refunds page. Telling us quickly simply means we can sort it out faster with our supplier and the delivery company.
Your rights to cancel and return differ depending on whether you are a consumer or a business customer, and are set out in full on our Returns and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
If you are a consumer, you can cancel an order within 14 days of receiving the goods, as described in Part B. Goods made to your specification or clearly personalised cannot be cancelled under that right, but they are still covered if they are faulty or not as described.
Trying before you buy. You can contact us about trying a product before you buy. Whether a trial is possible depends on the product and where you are, and we will agree the details, including any charge, with you first. While a product is with you on trial it remains our property, and we ask you to take reasonable care of it. Details are on our Returns and refunds page.
Where a product comes with a manufacturer's guarantee, the period and cover depend on the product, so ask us if you would like to know the guarantee on a particular item before you order. A guarantee does not cover damage caused by accident, negligence, misuse, or failure to follow assembly and care instructions.
If you need to make a claim, contact us first. We will give you the information you need and help you through it.
If you are a consumer, a guarantee is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them.
Neither of us is responsible for failing to perform, or for delay in performing, any obligation under the contract where that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control. This includes extreme weather, fire, flood, industrial action, failure of transport networks, delays at ports or customs, manufacturer or supplier failure, shortage of materials and acts of government.
If such an event occurs we will contact you as soon as we can, and where the delay is substantial either of us may end the contract and we will refund you for goods not supplied.
You may use this website to browse our range and place orders. You may not:
If you break these rules we may suspend or withdraw your access.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account. Use a strong password and do not reuse it on other websites. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
Please keep your account details, including your email address, phone number and delivery address, accurate and up to date so that we can fulfil your orders and contact you.
The content of this website, including text, images, layout and our name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy or reuse it without our permission.
Manufacturer brand names and product images remain the property of their owners and are used to describe the products we sell.
If we prepare a quotation or drawing for you, it remains our property and is provided for your own use in deciding whether to order from us. Please do not pass it to another supplier or use it for another purpose without our agreement.
This website may link to third party websites and may include material provided by third parties. We do not control these and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Please read their terms before using them.
We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy policy. Card payments are taken by Stripe and your card details are not seen or stored by us.
If you have a complaint, email hello@officedesks.ie marking your message "Complaint", or call 01 816 6600. We will acknowledge it, tell you who is dealing with it and keep you informed until it is resolved.
Consumers can get free information about their rights from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at www.ccpc.ie.
We may change these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law or in how we operate. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the time you place it, so please save or print a copy when you order.
Changes do not apply retrospectively to contracts already formed.
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and you and we both agree that the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer living outside the Republic of Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. In particular:
Free information about your rights is available from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at www.ccpc.ie.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if at the time the contract was made both of us knew it might happen.
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes our liability for:
We are not responsible for losses arising from your use of the goods for a business purpose. We have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
You may end the contract at any time before delivery if we have told you about an error in the price or description and you do not wish to proceed, if there is a risk that supply will be significantly delayed by events outside our control, or if we have breached the contract in any material way. In each case we will refund you in full.
We may end the contract if you do not, within a reasonable time, allow the goods to be delivered, or if you give us delivery or contact details that turn out to be false.
This part applies where you are buying in the course of a trade, business, craft or profession. The consumer protections in Part B do not apply to you, including the 14-day cancellation right.
You confirm that you have authority to bind the business on whose behalf you order.
These terms apply to the exclusion of any other terms that you seek to impose or incorporate, including anything printed on your purchase order or in your own conditions of purchase.
Any quotation we give is valid for the period stated on it and is subject to availability at the time you order.
Risk in the goods passes to you on completion of delivery to the delivery address. Title does not pass until we have received payment in full.
Delivery dates given for business orders are estimates. Time of delivery is not of the essence unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
You must inspect the goods on delivery and notify us of any damage, shortage or obvious defect in writing, with photos, within 7 days of delivery. If you do not, the goods are deemed accepted and we will not be able to raise a claim with our supplier or the delivery company on your behalf.
You must provide safe, clear and reasonable access for delivery, including a route from the vehicle to the delivery point, and someone to receive the goods. Where delivery cannot be completed because access details you gave us were inaccurate, the site was not ready or nobody was available, you are liable for the reasonable costs of the abortive visit and of re-attendance.
We do not accept returns, refunds or exchanges of unwanted goods from business customers unless we agree otherwise in writing. If we do agree to take goods back, you must tell us in writing within 14 days of delivery, the goods must be unused and in their original packaging, and collection charges apply. Bespoke and made-to-order items cannot be returned. Goods that arrive damaged are dealt with under clause 7 and on our Returns and refunds page. This does not affect a trial agreed under clause 8.
It is your responsibility to check before ordering that the goods will fit the intended space and can be got into the premises, including through doors, corridors, stairways and lifts, and to check colours and finishes rather than relying on on-screen images. All sizes and measurements are approximate and finished goods can vary slightly in dimension.
Payment is taken in full at the point of order, when you complete the checkout. We do not offer credit accounts or invoiced payment terms through this website.
If we have agreed credit terms with you in writing separately, payment is due within the period stated on our invoice. We may charge interest and compensation on overdue sums under the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012 (S.I. No. 580 of 2012), and where we have to instruct a third party to recover payment you are liable for our reasonable recovery costs in addition to any court and enforcement fees. You may not withhold or set off any amount against sums due to us.
Title to the goods remains with us until we have received payment in full. Until then you must keep the goods properly stored, protected and insured, and we may repossess them. You grant us permission to enter the premises where they are held in order to collect them.
We warrant that on delivery the goods will conform in all material respects with their specification and will be free from material defects in material and workmanship. Beyond that, the goods carry any manufacturer's guarantee that applies to that product, which depends on the product. Ask us before you order if you need to know the guarantee on a particular item.
The warranty and any guarantee do not cover fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, failure to follow assembly or care instructions, or alteration or repair carried out without the manufacturer's approval.
If a valid warranty claim is made, we will, at our option, arrange for the goods or the affected part to be repaired or replaced, or refund the price. This is our only liability for goods not conforming with the warranty.
This clause limits our liability to business customers. Please read it carefully.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1893, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that:
We may end the contract with immediate effect by written notice if you fail to pay any amount when due, if you commit a material breach and do not remedy it within 14 days of being asked, or if you become insolvent, enter examinership, receivership or liquidation, or cease trading.
