The front edge of a crescent desk curves inwards at the centre, drawing the worktop towards you and widening at either side. These desks suit people in Irish offices who work across a broad surface with papers on both sides, and they soften the look of a room. They come from the Impulse range in all three leg types.
Your keyboard and screen stay within easy reach at the middle of the desk, while your elbows get more room than a straight edge allows. The shape also looks friendlier than a strict line of rectangles, which helps in client facing areas or near reception.
Each desk is made as either a left hand or right hand model, and the two cannot be swapped. Decide which way the return should run against your wall before ordering, as the wrong version will not come right by turning it.
Curved desks do not butt together neatly, so for rows and banks straight desks make better use of the floor. If the aim is simply more working surface, corner desks offer more of it on the same floor space. For a solid, finished side on any of these shapes, look at panel end desks.
