Cantilever visitor chairs stand on a single looped frame instead of four separate legs. That design changes how the chair feels and how it behaves on the floor. Our range includes the Bella and Carter, both finished in bonded leather, and both well suited to meeting rooms and receptions in Irish offices.
Because the frame is cantilevered, it bends very slightly under your weight. Sitting down feels softer, and the chair moves with you a touch during a long meeting, something a fixed four leg chair cannot do.
The difference is easy to miss at first. It tends to become noticeable about forty minutes into a meeting.
If the floor is uneven, a cantilever frame may rock a little. They also tend not to stack well, so for rooms that need clearing, stacking chairs are the better pick. Four leg designs also cope better in rooms where the layout is changed often.
To weigh up both frame styles, see our full visitor and conference chairs range, and match them with meeting and boardroom tables made for standard seat heights. To talk it through, call 01 816 6600.
