Boardroom tables with power have Volta pop-up modules fitted into the tabletop, and come in High Gloss or Impulse finishes. Close the module and it sits flush with the surface, leaving a clean top between meetings. They are a good fit for Irish boardrooms and meeting rooms where laptops stay open from start to finish.
After an hour or so, laptops and phones start running out of charge. With no sockets at the table, someone drags a lead in from the wall, which looks messy and is a common cause of trips. A pop-up module brings the sockets up in the centre of the table and tucks them away when everyone leaves.
The module has to be fed from somewhere, usually a floor box set into the floor under the table. Arranging that is a building job rather than a furniture one, and it can take a while, so plan it in this order:
If your boardroom table is already installed, it is often possible to retrofit in-desk power modules into the existing top, although the surface will need to be cut. Our cable management range takes care of the rest of the cable run, and meeting and boardroom tables offers tables without built-in power.
