Hanging acoustics are suspended SCH! screens that split up an open floor and soak up sound, with nothing fixed to walls or desks. They are a sensible choice for offices in Ireland where the layout needs zoning but the building itself cannot easily be altered.
Commercial leases often limit what can be fixed to walls, and anything that is fixed may need removing and making good when the lease ends. A hanging screen avoids that issue, and it can come with you if you move.
Hung at the right height, a screen interrupts the view across an open floor. That does as much for how noisy a space feels as the absorption itself, because a room seems calmer when you cannot see all of it at once. These screens are not partitions, though, and sound will still travel past their edges and over the top.
Hang them along the boundaries between zones, not in the centre of one: between desks and a breakout area, for example, or across a busy, noisy walkway. For full enclosure, see privacy booths and pods, and for treating the whole room, our acoustic solutions.
The rest of the SCH! Acoustic Collection shares the same design. Tiles and baffles can be added later without clashing.
