Café and bistro seating is for staff canteens, coffee points and breakout areas, and our range includes the Brayford and Charford stools. Seats in these spaces get knocked, dragged and spilt on far more than any desk chair, so in any Irish workplace they need to be chosen for toughness and easy cleaning as well as comfort.
Coffee, soup and crumbs will all land on these seats sooner or later. Wipe-clean surfaces with sealed seams keep looking good, while fabric with open stitching traps dirt and starts to look tired inside a year. A slightly firmer seat is well worth it for a finish that still looks smart after a long run of lunch breaks.
Tall stools belong at café or poseur height tables, and standard chairs belong at standard tables. Getting the two mixed up is the classic slip with canteen seating, and it is hard to correct once the furniture is in place. The heights are listed on our bistro and café tables, or you can skip the measuring by choosing the Café and Bistro Collection, where seats and tables come already matched.
Grabbing a coffee for ten minutes is not the same as sitting down to lunch for forty. If staff actually eat in your canteen, mix in some standard height chairs with backrests. For a softer, more relaxed breakout corner, consider Harlestone stools and Studio soft seating.
